Blackpool Illuminations Tram

As of Good Friday, 6 April 2012 Blackpool Transport are offering coastline tours along Blackpool’s Golden Mile which are scheduled to run every half hour from 9:30AM right through until 5PM. The tours of Blackpool will be available during school holidays and also at weekends and all bank holidays in Blackpool. At weekends and during the most school half term holidays the tours will run every 10 minutes.

The heritage tours will also run during the Blackpool Illuminations where visitors to Blackpool can board special trams at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and will be whisked along the Golden Mile through the lights.

Where do the Heritage Tours star?

To take advantage of the tours there are 4 special tram stops scattered across the resort where you can hop on and off as long as you have a ticket. The Heritage Tram stops have a distinctive Green Cirle Heritage Tram Stops logo and are available from:

  • Pleasure Beach Loop, North Pier
  • Uncle Tom’s Cabin, Bispham

How much will it cost?

Tickets prices are:

  • £10 adults
  • £5 for children
  • £5 for senior citizens

Special £30 family ticket for up to two adults and three children.

 

The Heritage Tour ticket is also valid on all other bus service routes with Blackpool Transport and on all modern trams across Blackpool and the  Fylde Coast making this a value for money ticket throughout the day.

New Blackpool Trams, Blackpool HeadlandAs of 8th September 2011, Blackpool also features 16 new Flexity 2 trams in addition to the older style trams in operation along Blackpool Promenade. These new electric trams are state of the art and are very different to the original tram fleet.
The new trams including 100% step free access from platforms, spaces dedicated for wheelchairs. They offer more seating and standing capacity, as well as faster acceleration and quieter running.
The new trams also feature audio and visual ‘next stop’ displays to help travellers to know where they are at all times.

Senior citizens can travel for free with their travel pass on the new trams.
